Your preschooler will engage in meaningful, hands-on, school-readiness activities, along with a variety of exploration experiences that encourage thinking skills and develop confidence.
Enjoying Snacks and Meals
The development of good eating habits is one of the many skills your preschooler will learn as they enjoy meals and snacks with their teachers and friends.
Group Time and Teacher-Guided Activities
Group time provides your preschooler with an opportunity to come together with other children as a community of learners.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEAM)

Rest Time and Quiet Time
After a busy morning, your preschooler will have the opportunity to rest and take a nap on their very own cot. Non-nappers are encouraged to participate in quiet time activities on their cot while their friends are sleeping.
Language and Literacy Activities
Your preschooler will engage in meaningful language, literacy, and writing experiences that support emergent reading readiness skills. Your preschooler’s teacher will support your child’s journey on the road to reading.
Music and Movement Activities
Your preschooler will enjoy daily opportunities to sing songs, play with musical instruments, and participate in movement activities.
Outdoor Play and Large Motor Development
Jumping, running, and climbing will be one of the highlights of your preschooler’s day as they enjoy our safe and secure playground.

Graduates of our pre-kindergarten program consistently meet and exceed kindergarten readiness expectations as they enter elementary school. According to the 2020-2021 Teaching Strategies® GOLD® assessment, over 90 percent of New Horizon Academy pre-k children demonstrated outstanding kindergarten readiness skills across all learning domains.

Your preschooler will discover that they are capable and can do things for themselves–from small tasks like pouring their own milk and helping set snack tables, to tackling bigger issues like making decisions about how to spend time in learning centers.

Each day, you will receive updates through a mobile app which allows our teachers to share information as needed, send messages, and delight you with photos via e-mail. You are also welcome to use it to send your child’s teacher a message.
